Does that make this the middle of the middle?

Exactly one year ago (to the minute), I made my first blog post.

The year has passed quickly, but at the same time it feels like that first post was a long long time ago, and a lot has happened in my life. Twelve months and 44 posts later, I’ve gone from being injured to healthy, amateur to pro and back to amateur, undergrad to alumni, resident of Duluth to San Diego to Rochester to Minneapolis, student to intern, and all the emotional changes along the way. I won’t bore you with a recap since you could go back and read if you were really curious, but I’ll just say that these lines from my “Why dLife/dt?” page seemed to hold true.

“With great possibility come countless unknowns, and there may never be a time in my life where I have as much to talk about as I will in the next year. So what better time to chronicle my goings-on? If nothing else, It’ll be a snapshot of my life that I can always look back on.”

It’s already fun to go back and read some of the things I said and remember what was happening in my life just 9 months ago, so I know this will be something I’ll be glad I did 10 years from now.

Interestingly enough, right now I find myself in a similar situation (future career-wise) as last year. I’m working toward the NFL, but I might end up at Duke in August instead. My starting point has shifted but my strategy remains constant: work hard, plan as best I can, and see how things unfold.

Here’s to another year of change and uncertainty.
