B is for Bouldering

bould•er•ing [bohl-der-ing]

A style of rock climbing undertaken without a rope and normally limited to very short climbs over a padded surface so that a fall will not result in injury.

About three years ago and for no reason that I can remember, I decided to take up rock climbing. Since then I’ve really come to enjoy it. It’s challenging, physical, and best of all I can do it all by myself. Sometimes it’s hard to find friends that participate in some of my hobbies, so it’s nice to have the option of flying solo if need be.

Someday I hope to acquire the rope skills and equipment to go on my own outdoor climbing trips. Then all I’ll need are some adventurous friends to accompany me! Until then, I’ll continue to enjoy bouldering.
